Videos of people washing Rs 2,000 notes have gone viral in India, garnering millions of views in less a matter of days. At the time of writing, three out of top 10 trending videos on YouTube in India were about people performing water test on the new Rs 2,000 notes. One of the videos has already clocked over 5.4 million views.

Many people in India are also curious to know whether the new currency notes have a "Nano GPS chip" embedded in them after rumors started circulating on WhatsApp even before Prime Minister Modi announced the new currency notes.
