The newly announced game from Thunder Lotus -- the studio behind the quite-great 2015 game, Jotun-- boasts the same hand-drawn aesthetic as its predecessor. But where the earlier game was all about fighting Norse mythology-inspired bosses from an overhead perspective, this is a side-scroller set in a cursed land.

There's not much more than a trailer (above), a few screens (below) and a basic synopsis at this point. Sunderedwon't be out until 2017, though more will be shared at the upcoming TwitchCon 2016, which runs from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2.

You play Eshe, a wanderer in a ruined world, trapped in ever-changing caverns teeming with eldritch horrors. Harness the power of corrupted relics to defeat gigantic bosses, at the cost of your humanity. Resist or Embrace.
