The bands fans in Melbourne, Australia, filled a stadium with boos after the band's announcer addressed them as Sydney (of all places) Tuesday night.

Fortunately, most of the crowd found it hilarious, and not unlike a classic Simpsonsmoment.

It went down like this. After a reported wait for 50 minutes, GNR's announcer/technician, McBob, hit the stage with a thunderous "Sydneeyyy! You wanted the best but they're stuck in traffic..."

Melbourne was half offended, half amused.

According to the ABC, the last time the band played Melbourne back in 2013, the location was Sidney Myer Music Bowl, which maybe, kinda explains the mistake.

The band themselves were quick to apologise, pointing out that old mate McBob hasn't misidentified a city in his 30 years of service.
