There are Watch 2 Fast 2 Furious Onlinea lot of ways to help those affected by Hurricane Irma. FEMA accidentally tweeting the phone number of a sex hotline instead of an Irma helpline, though? That's decidedly unhelpful.
SEE ALSO: How to prepare for natural disastersPer the Miami Herald, the official Twitter account for FEMA Region 4 accidentally directed followers to a phone sex line in a tweet shared last week advertising a helpline for those whose roofs were affected by the storm. (Consumerist managed to snag a screenshot.)
The mistake was a simple matter of mixed up toll-free area codes. While 1-888-ROOF-BLU leads to a helpline, 1-800-ROOF-BLU (the accidentally tweeted number) leads to a greeting from "America's hottest talk line."
FEMA realized its error and has since replaced the tweet with a more wholesome corrected version.

Considering that Hurricane Irma caused widespread, costly destruction across Florida, we imagine the seedy sounds of an automated sex line greeting was an... unwelcomesurprise for callers.
We've reached out to FEMA for comment and will update should we hear back.
